Colorado Papers Win Big at Colorado Press Association Awards and Colorado AP Awards

This month, our Colorado publications took home several major awards in the CPA and Colorado AP competitions. Greeley Tribune brought home two Sweepstakes Awards as well as a General Excellence Award. The Summit County Journal and Aspen Times each brought home Sweepstakes Awards too. Great work everyone!

SNMG Publications Win Eight Awards This Month

Congratulations to Sierra Nevada Media Group (SNMG) for winning eight awards across three publications, in the Suburban Newspapers of America 2009 Advertising and Promotions Contest, which recognizes excellence in the field of advertising and marketing. SNMG won awards for the Lahontan Valley News in Fallon, the Nevada Appeal in Carson City, and the Record-Courier in Gardnerville. The awards ranged from “Best Promotion to Build Circulation” to “Best Homes Publication or Homes Special Section” to “Best New Advertising Section.” See the awards here.

The News-Review

Phil Neiswanger, a retired Swift employee, received the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association (ONPA) Lifetime Achievement Award on July 16th in Salem, Oregon. Phil was nominated for the award by Mark Raymond, Publisher of The News-Review. The award is presented for lifetime achievement in the newspaper industry. Phil Neiswanger worked with Phil Swift for nearly 40-years, was the Publisher at the News-Review, a GM of the company and a long-time Swift Board Member. Congrats Phil!
