Matt Sandberg started his newspaper carrier as a route carrier for the Ft. Collins Coloradoan in 1988. In high school he furthered his passion about the business as a staff reporter for Tiger Tracks, which was printed by the Summit Daily News, the newspaper where he served as Publisher from 2010-2016.
Currently Matt serves as the Director of Marketing and Innovation for Swift Communications, stepping into this role full time in July 2016. In this role Matt works directly with Swift sales leaders advancing the skills, capabilities and results of the Swift sales organization. Additionally Matt champions innovation efforts within Swift leading a team of individuals who rapidly test and implement successful initiatives to position Swift for future success.
Matt began his tenure with Swift Communications in June 2003 when he joined the Summit Daily as advertising account manager. Since that time he has had roles as advertising sales manager and advertising director of the Summit Daily, director of sales for the Summit Daily and Vail Daily and the Publisher of the Summit Daily News and Sky Hi News.
He is active in the industry, serving on the boards of the Colorado Press Association and Sync2Media, and in his home community of Frisco Colorado serving on the board of his local Rotary club. Matt and his wife, Shannon, have two young daughters and a playful Bernese Mountain Dog. As a family, they spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors of Colorado.
