If you thrive on a personal sense of purpose, professional challenge, life-long learning, making a difference in the community you call home plus live in communities that reflect the beauty and freedom of the Western United States, then Swift Communications is just that company.
Born and raised in Colorado, Bob Brown first fell in love with the Vail Valley on skis back in 1963—and he hasn’t looked back since returning in 1993. Married for 37 years and proud father of three, Bob and his family have built and run businesses right here in the valley, all while nurturing his belief in one guiding principle: “Champion the power of people to improve communities.”
Bob’s career in mountain media began in 1993 when he joined as co‑owner and publisher of the Vail Daily and Summit Daily News. He soon took the reins as General Manager of Colorado Mountain News Media, overseeing 16 regional publications, before serving as President and COO of Swift Communications—home to 40 media brands. In 2018, he diversified into auto glass with the purchase of Novus Auto Glass. After Swift’s sale to Ogden Newspapers in 2021, Bob launched Peak8150 Media Consulting in 2022, and in 2025, he returned to his roots as Publisher of the Vail Daily.
A graduate of Colorado State University (Business, Marketing) and Northwestern’s Kellogg School (Media Management), Bob brings deep expertise in leadership, marketing, advertising, and finance. He’s a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary, a founding board member of the Vail Valley Charitable Fund and Youth Power 365, past Board Chair of the Local Media Association, and a recipient of the Colorado Press Association’s Newspaper Person of the Year award. When he’s not driving results for the Daily, you’ll find him cheering on local youth sports or dreaming up new ways to lift this community he calls home.
